Hi Everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well! I’ve been really excited to share my experience at the Boskerris Hotel in St Ives with you as this is one my favourite hotel reviews to date. I had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay there and we can’t stop talking about planning a trip back there soon. I have been to St. Ives before, but this time I stayed somewhere a little different. With amazing sea views and a hotel that promised an authentic Mediterranean feel, I knew that this would be the unique stay that I was looking for.

Location
The Boskerris Hotel is conveniently located at the edge of St. Ives. It was about a 10-minute taxi ride to the center of the town, just removed enough to feel secluded. The town was quite touristy, equipped with an arcade, gift shops and a wide array of bars and restaurants. On Sunday evenings, St. Ives played host to a massive amount of tourists with live music playing from every street, which was really relaxing to walk through with a Cornish ice cream and a stomach full of seafood.

For those who are coming from abroad or further away in the UK, it will require a 50 minute drive from Newquay Airport. However, hiring a car and using it to explore the surrounding areas of Cornwall will definitely be worth the expense.
Hotel/Room
The hotel hallways were bright and airy, with lots of colorful contemporary paintings lining the walls. I’ve always been a fan of the minimalist, elegant decor and our room definitely had this. The room wasn’t very large, but it felt spacious enough for me, with the patterned wallpaper making the room appear even larger than it was.

The king bed was large and inviting, and two bedside tables and lamps were on either side. The room had a giant closet and a dresser with drawers. I had plenty of space for all my items — I could have stayed for months. I was also happy to see a kettle with teabags and packs of instant coffee too. It wasn’t a Nespresso machine, but it would do for my one- night stay.
We both loved the hotel balcony which looked out to the sea, and we hung out on it both day and night to admire the ocean — a view we never tired of. The balcony had many comfortable sofas and tables — perfect for lounging with a cocktail in the evening or having a refreshing breakfast in the morning.

All the other communal areas were amazing and it really felt like you had been invited into your friend’s home. You could tell that the owners had a background in fashion and interior design as they had thought about every little detail. On every coffee table they had added books on the surrounding areas which I could have spent hours reading.

Food
The breakfast was a great spread of fresh fruit, hot dishes such as bacon, sausage and eggs with plenty of baked goods, cereals and more. Eating breakfast overlooking the ocean was a fantastic start to the day. I was also able to sample the cream tea during my stay and trying many of their drinks on the balcony— the cream tea with scones, jam and cream was the best I’ve ever eaten. On a Sunday they are only able to provide breakfast so I wasn’t able to try any more food at the hotel but the staff did recommend a lovely restaurant in St. Ives called the The Kitchen Table. Whilst the menu was quite small, every item that we tried was amazing and incorporated really unique dishes and flavours from around the world.

Staff
The highlight of my stay (besides the amazing views) was the service. The staff were incredibly friendly and really went above and beyond, managing to book us a last-minute dinner at a popular local restaurant. They also helped organise a taxi for us and nothing we asked of them ever seemed like too much trouble. I was also consistently greeted by staff on the stairs and in the hallways who always stopped to have a chat with us.

The service during my stay at the Boskerris Hotel was flawless. The staff were punctual and there when I needed them the most, I’d like to thank them for this. I appreciated all the extras including the welcome gift and great service. The property itself is just amazing and the communal areas were so relaxing. The Boskerris Hotel is gorgeous and I can highly recommend you to stay there during any visit to the Cornwall area.
